1980 – Foundation of ATM

The foundation of what is now QATM is laid: ATM is established with the aim of developing high-quality equipment and solutions for materialography.

1996 – Start of direct sales activities

ATM begins its own distribution and positions itself as a full-service provider for metallographic laboratories – covering everything from sample preparation to analysis.

1998 – Innovation Award for Brillant 260

The Brillant 260 cutting machine receives the Innovation Award – a testament to ATM’s technological leadership and innovative strength.

2007 – Relocation to Mammelzen

Continuous growth leads to a move into the current company headquarters in Mammelzen, Germany – a significant step in the company’s development.

2009 – QUALITY 2009 Symposium

ATM organizes the first materialography symposium “QUALITY 2009”, creating a platform for expert exchange and professional development.

2010 – QNESS is founded

QNESS is founded with a focus on hardness testing technology – a perfect match in the field of materials testing.

2015 – ATM becomes part of Verder

Joining the Verder Group opens up international networks and new development opportunities for ATM.

2020 – ATM and QNESS merge to form QATM

ATM and QNESS join forces to become QATM – the new benchmark in materialography and hardness testing. Together, they offer integrated solutions and set new standards in quality and precision.

2021 – Launch of the Qmount

The Qmount sets new standards in UV embedding – faster and safer than ever before.
